OMG I think we're going to have to sell moist towels with these. Wait til you see these swim. Digs REAL nice...VERY slow reeling gives a niiiiiiice tail wag with a bit of roll. I've never fished one of my original Conrads...wow wish I had now.

Trying to decide if I want to put eyes on these or not.

The original plugs had the flat sticker eyes above the center line on each side. May try one tomorrow with recessed eyes above center and see how they look.

The quality of these bodies is incredible. I added a electronic brake to the big lathe yesterday and today. One sand @ 80 grit forward, one at 150 reverse. 4 seconds run stop reverse to full speed again. Very smooth finish this way.

Those bodies are birch and are EXACT copies of an original Conrad Sr. Only change I'm going to make is add eyes.. May do some eyeless next week too though.

The lips actually have to be de-tuned a bunch because there is so much action on it. Veeeeeeeeeeery slow retrieve will dig and wag. Too fast of a retrieve will give you more roll. They're very close to neutrally buoyant and don't take much to get them down.

btw karl there is a version of these conrad sr's also that is made of pine, same as the jr's had a style of each. You can tell the weight difference drastically between them.

more porn  ^-^
