Excellent! Really creative idea. Wow, I can't believe it's almost time to take out all the tools and kits again.

High praise from you, I must say! Your lures are true art work.  Beautiful finish to your lures.

So I just started using lures and decided to build my own. This is the fist one I did. Hope it will catch some fish.

Looks good. Lighten up the belly and you got a pretty good live mackerel imitation.

There ya go bub! Nice job! Did you use an onion bag for the scale pattern?

firemustang1

It believe it was. that or a red potato bag. i don't know which one i have been saving anything that looks like it will work.  I have a question after the lure is painted do they need to be coated with epoxy or just clear coat paint. If so, which epoxy is good for a beginner to try?

Nice job on that popper, Firemustang1.  Use the search button up top - it's your best friend for finding answers to your epoxy question.  There's lots of great information and instructions on this site.

Here is the second one I just finished. This time I epoxied the lure after reading some post. Now I need to buy more kits.
