And for the record that pile is over 5" deep in the middle :)

Scott,          Tins swim great. Too bad the fish didn't show. Two 12" Blues on the 1 1/4 and a short bass 18"  on the 1 3/4 ? A few casts later and good by to that one. Bail on my 460 Slammer closed on me...Again!  :bash:  An other time for that! Feeding the crabs most of the time.   Next week, the week after, maybe the week after that. Man it was dead!   I like the "Pocket pack," will be placing an order. I have some fishing bud's wives to call, would be a great Christmas gift.Sooner than later...  Thanks again, Scott.     Tom C.

I went on a tin buying spree this morning. Stuff is getting very expensive. Got about 30 lbs this week.

Peterjay

Yeah, it has something to do with heavy rains in Indonesia and demand from China. There's so few places where the stuff is mined that all it takes is one big weather event to really screw up the market. Glad I stocked up when I did. China's a big tin producer, but they must be going through it like candy if they're importing it. Better get it while you can - the outlook isn't good pricewise.

No, it ain't bad, considering. Where the heck are you finding this stuff? I've got about 45 pounds in my stash and I don't need any more, but I like to scrounge around just for the fun of it, and I haven't seen any deals in quite some time. The prices on eBay are beyond ridiculous, considering you can get foundry-grade stuff for $15/lb from Rotometals with free shipping. Anybody paying eBay prices should have their head examined.

You must be a lot better than I am at doing searches. you should be - I can't find my car keys or the TV remote three quarters of the time. The only way I can find my cell phone is to call it from the house phone. I lived here a year before I could find my driveway without driving past it at least once. Too few brain cells, too much $8-a-gallon vodka. :-X

nah when I see someone pop on there with some I check every week or so, I shoot them an email and ask them how much they got then if they'll give me a buck off a pound or whatever I will tell them to send me a invoice for the whole thing. Most of these guys are reasonable. Some of them like you and I have seen are downright freakin crooks.

If I knew that guy selling the pounds for $19.99 was selling them I'd go buy a few hundred pounds from rotometals at a time and put it on ebay and make $3.00 a lb after the ebay fees :)

realistically he's probably not. People aren't spending money on stuff like that right now.

Rotometals has 10% off this weekend - still not great, but at least you can get free shipping.

they raised their price on ingots to $15.99 a lb.

where did you see 10% off?

Peterjay

Jeez, I didn't realize the price had gone up yet again. It was $14.99 the last time I checked, which was only a few days ago. It's gone from $9.99 to $15.99 in less than a year. That's a hell of a jump. I get their newsletter, since I've bought from them in the past. The coupon code for the 10% off is "stuffed" and it's good through Sunday. They often run 10% off sales on holiday weekends.

yea that's not any deal either, it would have been better if they hadn't already wiped out the savings in the price increase. That still makes it $14.40/lb. yikes.
