New to Lure Building

Hi guys.  My name is Bill.  I'm from NJ.  Just got in a few orders of various poppers from Salty's.  I THINK I got most of the materials needed.  One question is, what do you use as the finish epoxy coat?  Is there something most of you guys prefer?  Looking forward to talking to you guys.  Thx in advance.

I bought WATCO Teak Oil Finish to seal the lure at the start of this process.  Good product?  Waste of money?

Hi Bill welcome to the madness :)

If you use the search bar up above you'll see the subject of top coat has been covered many times. There's alot of tips on the website, and there's tons in the search on the forum here. Many product readily available work well. Have not tried the teak finish, should work I would think. I believe that is a typical drying oil.

That's guys.  In the process of dipping the 1st plug. Now I just have to have the patience til it's dry and ready to paint.  I'm rather excited to see what I can do.  You guys have done some amazing lures.

welcome to the site 2225.........Etex  for the finish coat......and waterlux wood sealer for sealing
 
ive also used flex coat rod building finish

Question. 

I'm spray painting my 1st lure.  Couldn't wait for airbrush kit.  It looks pretty good.  But.....I have 3 small air bubbles.  What is the cause of this and how do I remove without damaging paint job?

Make sure you let things dry really well. Could be alot of things but I think this is the most common.

Yeah.  I just realized that, lol.  Just glued it in. 

If I don't have a turning wheel for the clear coat...what's another possible solution?

flip it by hand a few times. Put a screw in a pair of visegrips to hold it.
