There may be up to a week downtime while we cut links on the old site over to the new. Very exciting! This is so big of a jump to get to this level after so long with the old cart!

« Last post by Out Fishing on September 15, 2018, 09:05:34 AM »So just an update as I'm getting emails for backordered product. We are not updating the old site any further and concentrating time on the new cart.
We currently have 167 unique items on the new site. We have finished all of the kits and painted lures. This alone was a monumental undertaking. When you consider all of the lures we make and colors it's mind boggling. The new site has made much of this easier with how it works!
This morning we finished another huge page conversion of all the lure bodies! This gives us almost 1/3 of the hardware/components pages off the current site.
Got some SWEEET new feathers in this week and will have the new Yellow Zonker tails up on the new site!

"Several years ago I came up with this idea on my own while catfishing off of my grandparents dock in N. Carolina. My grandfather had a woodworking area in his basement and we made a few to get much longer distances on our casts with spectacular results, we finally could reach the sandbar where we had previously been taking a rowboat to reach with our baits on a light duty conventional rod setup. Another tip from a friend resulted in us getting some 7 foot surf spinning rods and 40 sized reels to match.
Unfortunately our casting eggs only lasted for a fish or two.
I was given your 1oz egg this year, twelve years after our initial attempts at making our own, and I am very proud to report that I managed to land a 76lb flathead with it. It lasted several more fish but was lost when a large gar decided that my current catch was its dinner.
The loss aside, I am a fan of the egg, and will surely purchase at least a dozen more for next years fishing season!"

« Last post by Out Fishing on August 29, 2018, 07:29:36 AM »So we've got some of the new mini butterfish done & they have some real SWEET grizzly chartreuse and some Fuschia tails.....Pics of the tins in this post on the forum! wil get some more of them finished up shortly.
These are perfect for light tackle and even freshwater fishing. SWEET SIZE! Recreations of some of the original Kenden tins I've spoken about previously.
The bad news is I will not be getting these on the cart anytime soon. We made the decision last month to start working on a complete new Content Management website integrated with the cart and have been working on adding product and configuring the new site. Kits are done, Finished lures are about 1/6 done and components will get tackled last. This is a huge undertaking with more than 1000 unique products in stock! We HOPE to have this running fully before Christmas this year!
The new Saltys site will have some cool features now also. Can't wait to finish this and go live! This is something we looked at doing many years ago. The cart company we have been with since 1996. Ultimately while we upgraded many times over the years, the software was lacking and current website and cart editing was getting entirely too antiquated and time consuming. Will be able to integrate things like color charts, customer accounts, manage backordered product, etc in new cart.
