Well that's easy there's two ways for fish to get there Craig

Swim when the field is flooded which is most likely or dropped by a bird....the already know that is pretty common

makes ya wonder where the eggs came from  or how it starts....

When I lived in Eastern Washington, I'd hit up drainage ditches on certain farms for trout.   YOu could pull out some big uns since few anglers ever hit them.
