Epoxy................
« on: September 08, 2010, 07:22:03 PM »
I used 2 different types of epoxy e-tex and flex coat I'm having trouble with bubbles is there a solution to this? also, both epoxy top coats don't seem hard like some other plugs, I have a beechmaster needle, you can press your fingernail in it and see no mark, when I do that to my finish you can see a mark, not hard enough? is there a solution to this? Thanks fellas!!

well skiddd i never used e-tex but the flex coat has to measured 1:1  you cant eyeball   and it has to be mixed  at least 3 min...get syringes for epoxy measuring  mudhole tackle sells them   that will give you equal parts of the flex coat
put equal parts in a small stir cup and mix for 3 min.....or until clear  when u start to mix the two parts they will be cloudy but as u mix they   become clear...........and then you can mix in some fine flakes  hopes this helps

Salty, on one of your finished plugs I bought at the nassau colliseum show, its a surfster special edition purple in color, the finish is rock hard and very thin, btw that plug is awesome. So the softer finish is ok? I'm cool with that. Are you gonna be at the Fisherman show on long island on 09/16/2010 ?
