Adding Eyes to a finished plug?
« on: March 11, 2013, 06:16:38 PM »
I'm sure some of you have seen the Squid/Sperm plug. I want to add eyes to it. 1/2 molded ones.
What would be the best adhesive/glue? Thinking of Zap a Gap.

zap a gap works as does 5 or 30 minute epoxy

I would use 30 minute epoxy. Would not recommend fly cement. Too thin.

well use a sharp fostner bit in a drill press with a jig to hold the plug and go slow as not to ruine the paint........but remove the hooks for safety u dont want a hook in your arm or finger........or use 1/2 inch sticky eyes and e-tex the whole plug useing a spinner and  remove the hooks as well.........i think that was your question

I am not a plug builder. At all. I have this plug and would like to add the eyes to it. Is there away to just glue/epoxy the eyes on?

what he said.

As a sperm painter that thing looks hideous. Looks like it's been rolling around for 6 days in lilo's thing and it looks like it got run over by a mack truck :D

As a squid painter however I'd say you aced it.

:)

use flat eyes with epoxy. Your going to ruin the paint. Next time you want to do all your drilling BEFORE you paint or finish.
