Yeah, what Handy said! On a lighter note, I'd like to see a glut on the tin market - $6/lb would be really nice. I'd also like to see just one year when the surf fishing is half as good as it was back in the days when Lassie was pulling Timmy out of abandoned mine shafts and Elvis didn't need a wheelbarrow to haul his gut out onto the stage.

I just read gas will be 4.00 a gallon by the spring, here we go!
everything in my business is petroleum based, when it was high a while back our materials tripled, when it came down our materials came down just a twinge.

Pigment ink for my Epson printer: $30,000/gallon. Luckily, I only have to buy 80 ml at a time, but there are nine colors, and it's still wicked expensive. I don't even print any more unless I'm getting ready for an exhibition.

C'mon Bill, I've been doing a lot better with the therapy and all; hell, I haven't left the house naked in weeks. That morals charge was a real wakeup call. Lucky for me the goat refused to testify.

PJ,

Gotta love a silent goat! What a laugh first thing in the morning....and it wasn't a charge...merely an observation. It does make skishing less costly.

Somebody told me that it used to be illegal in Rhode Island for a bachelor to own sheep. I don't know if it's true or not, but if it is, that's one blue law that should never have been repealed. I actually have a cousin who was friendly with a neighbor's cow when he was a teenager. Extremely friendly. Every time the cow saw him coming, she'd back up to a stump. My cousin actually ended up running for Congress three times - and lost, thank God - which confirms my opinion of politicians of every persuasion. (I swear I'm not making this up.) A shrink once told me that she'd never seen anything to compare with the number of assorted pree-verts that come from my home town. The family trees in that place look like telephone poles. You can see why I live in Connecticut now.

$4 & A GALLON GAS MAY PUT A CRIMP IN ECONOMY.....WONT BE STOPPING ME FROM GETTING MY TIME IN AT THE HOOK !! I MAY HAVE TO REDUCE MY BEER FUND ALLOWANCE.........

BEST TO ALL !

Numbie... hold off on getting the boat.  In a few months, they'll be cheap.  Maybe I'll be able to get my Surburban then too.

i like the topaz myself but what I dont want is the expenses of the marinas,  my old marina wants 3500.00 for the season.  plus winter storage. plus who knows what else .... she is a sweet ride tho  :bash:
the mako sits on a trailer and don't cost much.  ;D , if the topaz comes down 1500.00 I'ld say it's a done deal pretty much. he's real close right now.

Topaz does make a sweet ride. When I was looking I opted for the trailerable boat so I could head north or south as well. Although trailering a 28-footer isn't as easy as I would like. I also hoped I could talk the Mrs. into letting me buy a nice 28 Almbermarle I have my eye on...that isn't going so well either... :D

the price for the topaz is a s steal, my wife says no too, I never told her the price yet when I do I'm sure I'll get the green light. there are some incredible deals out there.

You are right about deals. I got the Cobia (only 5 years old at the time and 200 hrs on the motor) for a steal although I had to drive to Florida to pick it up. My friends call me the repo man because I buy a repo stuff...even my house fits the bill. It is all stuff that I saved for and now the time is right.

Salty, the wife is just not understanding...actually, she keeps me on a leash but I want for nothing! ;) If it wasn't for her I'd have many nice boats and no gas to operate them.
