Title: Kit Feedback
Post by: Out Fishing on June 20, 2010, 01:34:57 PM
"My brother and I recently purchased 10 kits from you.  I want to compliment you   on them.  Nicely finished, consistently shaped, and all the parts necessary.  I   am thrilled with them.  I will be back for more."

Subject: The Dahtah
WOW!  I am impressed with the swimming action, but even more impressed when used like a jerkbait, the slow rise makes it nearly neutrally buoyant and I am seeing depths of 6-8 feet – that works great for the edges of the weed beds for those crazy muskies!!

i have to agree.i have done a few others company's kit,but the buggers are consistent and easy to work with.i took a new jack out the other day first time in the salt.showed him a few kits he was amazed, even better was when i showed him how to use a pencil popper.the look on his face when a blue chased then grabbed it was priceless.the nexted morning we went freshwater fishing and he asked if he could use the pencil popper :D
keep up the good work!

"I took the Peanut plooper for a test run today.  I love it.  We are about out of fish for the year so no hits but it casts as advertised and the action is great.  I am thinking these will make good Christmas presents for certain people."

Hey Salty man, I'm new to building/painting lures, I'm very pleased at the quality, consistancy and productivity of your products. I have completed 9 of your lures and love the way they came out I also enjoy the forum, cool bunch of fellas(no Yankee fans so far!) with a lot of knowledge and are always willing to help. I have a new hobby.......

"Its been a long summer of fishing and I have been working through the kits I made during the spring and early summer. I must say, your baits continue to turn heads from the muskies!! The Scuttlebugger, affectionally known as the “peanut” pushes a great deal of water and has explosive hits (and misses)!!

We are in the fall months, and I am looking forward to hitting the rock reefs on Vermillion and Lake of the Woods, thanks again for the great kits. I will send along pictures as we get them together"

MOST EXCELLENT!

Salty - your site should come with a warning:

Surgen General Warning - purchasing these products can be hazardous to your marriage and well being.  My kids are asking why "Dad is always down the basement", Work is asking "what are all these hits on this new SaltWaterPlugs website", my wife just joined EHarmony.com, looking for a boyfriend", and my bank just called checking if my account has been compromised due to all the "activity" being sent to SaltWatherPlugs.

Hey - any of you guys out there know of a good lawyer?

KITS ARE GREAT---EASY TO FINISH WITH SPRAY PAINT....WHAT DO YOU FIND TO BE THE BEST SEALER?
I STARTED USING KILZ  :D  JUST A LITTLE WATER TO CUT IT A LITTLE ---SHAKE IN A PLASTIC BOTTLE WITH SCREW TOP AND DIP THE LURES....LET DRIP DRY AND THE PLUG IS READY FOR PAINT AND FINISH SPRAY

ANYBODY FISHING THE JERSEY SHORE?---ANY COLOR PRODUCING BETTER THAN OTHERS?
GOOD LUCK...!!!!!!

reel1in im not sure about using water based sealers.......i like oilbased products they penatrate and seal out water well...... go with BLO or i use a sanding sealer cause its drys quick but u still have to let your plug dry real well before priming rustolium 2x primer........i spray with both types of paints but prefer latex over oil based  just for the clean up......try switching your sealer  to 100% wax free shellac  i feel that cutting sealers with water wont be fool proof and water will penatrate your plug and cause the wood to swell..........

yes it probably will. Oil or lacquer based products are much better. Water based paints have to polymerize and can be affected by submersion..

"Not a lot of action along the surf today!!!! Well the new lures and the lure kits I bought will at least keep me thinking about this past season’s surf fishing and next season to come.

I bought a couple FatHead popper kits from you earlier this year, finished them and used them in the surf on the cape during the summer and early fall and then along the south coast of Rhode Island from mid fall to a couple weeks ago.

Although my lure finishing skills were not the best it didn’t seem to bother the fish. The poppers cast great, have good action and most importantly to me float at rest which is why I looked at your product. Most of the new plastic stuff sinks and has to be worked too fast to keep the plug on the surface. Not the way I’ve had success over the past 40 years striper fishing. On the surface where you can manipulate the action of the plug by the tip action of the rod has worked for me. Your lures do just that. A very good product."

"My Boys and I put together some of your plugs this year and had a lot of fun.  They were really proud of theirs when finished.  They were also excited when I caught a 30" bass on the 1.5oz swimmer while fishing with them on Thanksgiving morning."

"Missed the run of big Striped Bass this spring because of scheduling problems but was able to catch some gorilla sized bluefish on the 9 inch poppers I purchased from you over the winter! I have them weighted heavy and they cast a mile yet still float! The blues gobbled them up even without a retrieve sometimes! This was my first attempt at lure building and I must say it has been not only a great success but a great way to pass the cold winter, when I’m not out on the ice fishing. "

"I just recieved an order for several lure kits that I ordered over this past weekend, including swimmers, pencils, and needles. Everything ordered was there and these lures are Super-Awesome. A few are intended as gifts for Christmas and all are intended to be winter projects to pass the time until bass show up in early May in our area. These are great...such a great deal and they look like they contain really nice, high quality materials.

Thank you! Merry Christmas and Best Fishes for the New Year!!!"
