AH!   you guys must be pretty slow at the shop.......hand carved pine durby kits  dont let salty catch ya buildin cars..........may i suggest some belly & tail weights in the body to increase its speed :)

Yup, it's that time of the year!  Our Cubs Scouts got their Pinewood Derby Kits at the Christmas Party.  Drew's thinking about a FAST car with Salty's 3D eyes and a scale pattern.
 
I figure that a Metal Lip or popper mouth would slow it down, so maybe a Glider profile (without hooks). 
 
Going FAST is all about the weight, alignment, wheels and axils... ;D

Car was a consistent loser. Kid was bummed. I dunno why we thought we did a pretty good job. It was 20 mph slower than the fastest car.

couple of extra belly weights coulda helped  when nobody was lookin  graphite lube the wheels  oh well  better luck next time       :)
