yea scott it was a winter project that was my first surf reel when i was a kid its about 46 +/- years old so i desided to put her back into shape plus the place where i got it powdered coated did a lot of bike work and old cars like bumper springs bike wheels custom pipe work it was just nice looking at all the things in this dudes shop.....i figured you like this place........$75.00 to do the reel and in the reel cup they must have used some fine sandblasting material cause every thing inside the reel is like new metal............penn discontuined some parts like the bail arm/wire so i got them tuned up .....now she's gonna be put on my shelf

Handy that looks really cool. Is that the original color? Heard good things about Penn and trying to get parts and schematics on their site. Looks great
-
hay shrub......thats as close to the orginal color that the guy had.............im working on another one
-
never woulda thought of getting it powder coated.
-
powder coating dose a sweeter job plus its a lot more durable.......but this reel is put to rest no more fishing for her
-
Looks good Handy - I've also still got (and use) my black 710 from around 1963 -65 or somewhere around there. It works the same as it did when it was new. Those babies were really built.
-
Handy - I have an original down my basement in working condition. I'll post a pic.
