paint
« on: April 26, 2011, 04:49:01 PM »
You guys who airbrush, do you ever use transparent colors? I use Createx paint. I want to paint my next plug an opaque green and then put a transparent light gray over it.  Look through the gray to see a darker green. Any ideas?
I could see the bridge was lined with bears, but I didn't have a dog gone dime.

You will see the green through the gray but createx is not as transparent as you would think try shooting it on a dowel first to see if you get what you are looking for just shoot a base coat color of your choice and then paint away if you get what you want paint the plug

I felt like paintin' so I went ahead. It came out ok. Not what I expected or hoped, darker than I thought. Gonna leave it a while to see if it gets epoxy and finished or new color. :-\

You might want to try and shoot the green let it dry or hit it with a blowdryer on low till somewhat dry and just fog the gray in over the green just keep the airbrush furthur away from the plug and fog it in using slow sweeps of the brush this way the paint don't buildup so quickly over the green.

I am keeping this one, but I went too heavy on the grey for sure. Next time I will ease up on the transparent.
