Title: Feedback that speaks for itself
Post by: Out Fishing on January 13, 2012, 05:15:26 AM
Feedback that speaks for itself. Tnx for taking the time to respond!

Scott,
just got my order, Holy Sh-- dude those sand eels are incredible the tin's are amazing.  One of my favorite lures of all times are 40 year old pasquale lures.  I still have one left…haha….. Can't find them any more…."TILL NOW"…..you have all the bigger sizes and the craftmanship is impecable.  I had 2 bass last night on the rocks,  went down to pick him up and i was the daring old man on flying trapeze.  Thought i was goner.  Little banged up but alive.  Next time i order save some cash and don't bother with all the packaging if that helps.  You take great care in your putting together an order. BRAVO….thanks for making a top notch bunch of lures its appreciated………you made a loyal customer………

Glad you like them they are as close to 100% tin as you can get. Good basic shapes that have been around forever. Those are fairly soft so they can be slightly bent to change the action. More of a u shape like a ) on its side or slightly less will make those have a real nice wiggle on a slow retrieve.

We've done pretty well with packaging by keeping things simple and standardized. The object is to get your order in your hands in the condition it leaves our factory. We've lost one box in the last year. I'll take that for proper packing.
Enjoy!

Today I have received my order from you guys and would like to say I'm beyond impressed! The build quality of these lures is off the charts! The finish is second to none and the colors are spot on to the local forage fish in my area. These days to get high quality you have to pay for it but with these lures I feel like I stole them! At the price you guys charge and the quality that you get, I'm convinced hands down your lures are unbeatable! I have bought many lures from my local shop and when they actually caught a fish, I can't count how many times the hooks straightend out on me. With these lures i feel a 100% confident that I won't have to worry about my lure failing! Thank you salty's for your excellent lures and service. You made me a customer for life!

Incredibly Fast Shipping!  My order arrived today (Tuesday), and I think I ordered them on Friday.

I was worried that my order wouldn't get here in time for my brother's birthday, which is January 19th...now my problem is waiting that long to give him his presents.

Compare that to another tackle manufacturer from which I ordered the 21st of November, and I am still waiting for inventoried jigheads.

Anyhow, I'm going to watch some more Salty YouTube videos and read up on the forum before butchering up the kits.

Thank you.  We will be doing business again, I am sure of it.

"My wife purchased the Salty's 5 Piece Surf Tin Pocket Pack a few days ago as a gift for friend. He is going to cartwheel when he opens the package. The pictures don't do them justice. They are fabulous. He fishes on the California coast from Pacifica to Pescadero and these will be great for stripers. I may have to get a pack for myself. By the way, your site is great. It's funny how I was looking for wooden lures and ended up buying tins!"

BARRACUDA! WAAAAAAAAAY NASTY COOOL FISH! :bhappy: Tnx for the pics from Todd in Kona!

"Aloha Scott! Just wanted to send you a few pics of the Kawele'a (Heller's Barracuda) that I caught today in Kona using one of your Surf Tins.
The fish was 16" long and 3 lbs, which is good-sized for this species of Barracuda.
I changed the Siwash to a smaller buck tail treble in yellow/white to mimic the Oama (White Juvenile Goat fish) that are a favorite of the Kawele'a. Needless to say, it worked. Took another big strike, but that fish came off after a short run."

Each metal lure had in the shipping box had foam kernels placed with each lure in both boxes for added padding. Very nice touch. The plug kits I ordered were wrapped nicely and were placed in the shipping boxes with more foam kernels. Very nice job and the best I have seen. Can't wait to get these bad boys in the water and to put the kits together. These should be fun to build and also do over the winter. Great job guys!
Salty's will be my goto folks for plugs."

Subject: pics of stripers caught with 1.5 oz surfster yesterday - from California
Hey Scott, how are you? I emailed you some time ago and you mentioned you don't get many pics from the west coast. I went out yesterday and one of your 1.5 oz Surfster lures I built from a kit got the attention of the stripers. I kept one and took a photo I wanted to send to you. Striper fishing off the beaches here in California can be challenging compared to a few decades ago but I found myself in a good situation yesterday with baitfish flying out of the water in front of me - maybe 50 feet in front of my waders, first thing in the morning! The stripers wasted no time in outright attacking the Surfster - the first fish kept thrashing on the surface after it hit the lure, it was quite a sight to see! It is early in the season so these are mostly schoolies but still fun.

I am attaching pics and please feel free to use these or quotes from this email on your site.  I also attached a photo of a few of my completed lures. I have no artistic ability at all - and I painted these all with rattle cans from Home Depot, so if I can do it, anyone can. I have an air brush but as a business owner, I don't have all the time I wish I had to spend time with an air brush doing detail work on lures so. After sealing them, I sprayed them with the Rustoleum Painter's Touch primer, then Painter's Touch spray paint and finally coated them with Devcon 2500 lb clear epoxy. They hold up great and I cannot wait to order more kits in the future!

I am going to try to get out fishing more this year and will do my best to send you more photos.  I usually fish by myself and release most of my fish no matter what I am fishing for but I'll try to send you more pics as I get out fishing.

I love your lures, keep up the good work!

I purchased some of your lures last year, painted them up and gave them to one of our deckhands.
I thought you might enjoy a picture of one of two 200lb tuna he caught with it.  Not giants by the east coast standard, but really good to the west coasters!
I just ordered more, thanks for the great products!

Received via email recently:

"Several years ago I came up with this idea on my own while catfishing off of my grandparents dock in N. Carolina. My grandfather had a woodworking area in his basement and we made a few to get much longer distances on our casts with spectacular results, we finally could reach the sandbar where we had previously been taking a rowboat to reach with our baits on a light duty conventional rod setup. Another tip from a friend resulted in us getting some 7 foot surf spinning rods and 40 sized reels to match.
Unfortunately our casting eggs only lasted for a fish or two.
I was given your 1oz egg this year, twelve years after our initial attempts at making our own, and I am very proud to report that I managed to land a 76lb flathead with it. It lasted several more fish but was lost when a large gar decided that my current catch was its dinner.
The loss aside, I am a fan of the egg, and will surely purchase at least a dozen more for next years fishing season!"
