Panama Poppers in the works!
« on: January 02, 2014, 03:42:09 PM »
I've been working (SLOWLY) on a batch of poppers for a Panama kayak fishing trip in February. I started with 4 GT poppers and 3 of the next size down (blabbermouths??). I have to do all my sanding and priming outside because I live in an apartment. The weather has been terrible here in NJ, so it has taken me forever to get these things going. So much so that I began to focus on the GT poppers because I was afraid I'd run out of time. So here's some pics of my process, just for kicks. Painting next!!!  bananalama

I cut 600 of these today. That's been a pretty good popper! It's a decent size for a 30-50lb standup rod.

I like them so far. I've painted 2 and have 2 to go. I am going to try to make them light though. Gonna try using them with a 30lb rod.

Been really lazy this winter. I am running out of time. I got the grommet and eyes in two of them. I'll let them cure a few more days and then clear. :)

I got around to clearing one and painting another today. It took me about 8 hours to do all the masking on that one plug. Pizza time!!! bananalama
