Lead molds
« on: July 08, 2010, 06:51:07 PM »
Got 7 new molds in today. Here's a shot at a few of them. Won't be pouring til the temps go back down a bit. One of these is the puck style belly weight for the sandeel swimmers, one is just a puck weight with no hole, and one is the new godzilla belly weight. I showed pics of the masters of these somewhere here before.

THAT is an art. And ALOT of work.

They did a nice job on those. That's a time-consuming process, with that many cavities. I hear ya about the temps - I poured a silicone mold yesterday and my shop was hot enough to roast a chicken. Pouring metal is out of the question for a while. Hate to think about what August is going to be like.
