Title: Striper Reports?
Post by: Peterjay on December 01, 2012, 09:30:50 AM
Hey, how'd you guys do on stripers this year? The reports I've gotten from my RI spies have been downright awful.  :( A friend of mine reported catching exactly one bass and it was 15 inches. Another guy said it was dismal until the storm, and absolutely nothing since. And these dudes are wicked good fishermen. I've only made a couple of scouting trips down here, mostly looking for access points, but all I've seen are dolphins, pelicans, and eagles. Some of the pelicans were working, but they were too far out to tell what the bait was. Haven't seen any gannets, but I hear they're around.

Although sandy was quite devastating it gave the bass a little relief along the ny and jersey shorelines.
