Weights on all plugs ?

Is it best to weight all plugs or will the belly treble hook be sufficient ?  This is for a general top water plug.

You want to put weight in the lure where you want it to sit deeper in the water...pencils get tail or belly weighted, swimmers get belly weighted etc.
Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way....Alan Watts
