say surfstix......the plug in the bass pic.......is tail weighted    i dont use belly weights to often.......i tail weight the plug so it cuts threw the wind better

Any suggestions on how much weight to throw in the back end I figured the belly weight may give it some ballast up front even if I go lighter on it.

yea  like i said  i very rarely do i use a belly weight    but salty has the tail weights  about 1/4" and about 1" long plus whats  cool about them is the tail gromitt fits into the hole.......now i drill a 1/4" hole into the tail of the plug.... deeper then the  tail weight lenth  this way i can jam it in towards the middle of the plug if i want to..... this makes the plug throw like a bullet........there aint nothing worse than tossin a nice looking plug out to the bar   and have it spin  rather then shoot out like a rocket...........     good luck surfstix

I wouldn't go any more than the 1/4x1 weight it might start sinking like a stone...

which is not necessarily a bad thing-sometimes some of my best poppers are one's that do sink and you keep them on top by working them..like the seagar popper.
