Hello Laurent and welcome. Very nice fish you got there. What the heck is it? Some kind of grouper?  Show some pictures! We'd love to see them!

Is it winter/spring down there now?

it is a "napoleon"
very good fish to eat, now it is protected

Beautiful country you have there  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Caledonia  I have talked to ham operators in New Caledonia a few times in my life. Long ways away! Near Vanuatu if I remember right.

new caledonia is a beautiful country with mountains a lagoon at the same place
good place to fish but there are a lot of boats, mostly near noumea
have to go far to have good fishing spots
i fish mostly on the west coast
i use home made lures, poppers and stickbaits
with friends we have a internet site with many pics : www.xtrem-fishing.com/

now we are on "winter"
best season to fish is summer, groupers are more actives and we can catch wahoo
between the 2 seasons there is a lot of wind, hard with my little boat

best fish to fish is the Giant trevally caranx, the "GT" with big lures

we practice a lot catch and release

Hey,
Lobsta here. North of Boston, fish for anything in the ocean. Up until now mostly cod and Haddock. Just got my first 3 Salty's plugs and can't wait to finish and get them wet. I just ordered 3 more tonight (long cold winter).

Hey guys - I've been hanging around here long enough now that I figured I'd better come clean and tell you all who I am. Besides, the statute of limitations has run out on most of my activities and a key witness for the state was recently (and conveniently) found in a dumpster, so I guess it's safe. I'm Peter Jacobson: Ashaway, RI native, long-time fly tyer, fisherman, visual artist, musician, and all-around undesirable. I also used to be a fishing columnist until the commercial crowd got tired of hearing the truth and decided I'd been walking around with healthy kneecaps just about long enough. (OK, I'm exaggerating a little, but pissing people off comes naturally to me, and I'm still not sure how I avoided winding up in a chum line) I just started lure making last winter, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I was gonna build plugs, but after I bought some of Salty's kits, it became obvious that I wouldn't live long enough to catch up to the real craftsmen, so I decided to stick with the kits and concentrate on tins. I really enjoy this site and appreciate all the information that's here for the asking. My own area of expertise is fly tying, and if I can contribute anything, I'll be more than happy to help out.

Hey Handy, I think we may have found Salty's panic button - maybe we should start a fly thread and see if it gets us kicked off the site. (got some nice albacore flies ready for the epoxy) Another week or so and it'll be tunas on the incoming and bass on the outgoing - man, this is a great place to live. Probably a good thing we don't have muskies around here or my wife would've already had me declared legally dead. Or maybe illegally dead.
