Port Orford Cedar Balusters
1.5" x 48" Clear Vertical Grain Squares Hard to find 1.5" size, can be used for full sized Dannies, Swimmers, etc. Port Orford Cedar is the strongest cedar in the world. It turns very nice and has a very distinct Lemon/Ginger like smell to it. These squares are clear. There can be an occasional small tight knot in these but 99% of the stock we see is completely clear. We have been using this POC to build lures for over 7 years now. It turns, sands, and seals easily and will take paint very well. POC is typically used to make arrow shafts but because of it's strength and buoyancy it makes a excellent choice for poppers, swimmers, and floating needlefish lures. POC is an extremely dense wood, typically found in one section of the USA and grows only in higher elevations. It is a very slow growing tree very similar in properties to Alaskan Yellow Cedar. It is very buoyant and makes great top water lures or swimmers. Works great for floating needles also. Wood doesn't require sealing much like Alaskan Yellow Cedar, but it is recommended to seal any tannins in and prevent bleeding.		1.5x48 Port Orford Cedar Square Ships oversize-additional shipping rates may apply, Cart may not calculate shipping properly. Remember to use good dust collection or a respirator when cutting/sanding any kind of cedar. They contain a very defined crystalline structure which is bad to inhale. All cedars are this way. Also make sure you use a good quality hiding primer so you don't have problems with bleeding which are prevalent with all cedars.
